Any proper business leader wants to make big sales. While there are many goals of a business, in order for a business to be successful, it must make money, and the way to do that is through sales of either products or services.
There are many factors that go into making a big sale. In construction, I can say one of the most important ways to make big sales is via relationships. This applies to many other industries as well. There are a few important steps and actions you need to take to build relationships with your clients and, in turn, make a big sale.
Maintain a connection.
You cannot just start a business relationship and then assume it will continue without effort. You have to take active steps to maintain the relationship. This means following up after a job to get client feedback. It also means politely checking in every few months with the client. I’ve found that it means a lot to clients when they see that you care about maintaining your relationship with them. In many cases, that will help you get multiple jobs from a client and, therefore, make more sales.
